empirikon Philosophy

Based on our experience and practice in corporate culture, business ethics, cultural sciences, theology, social sciences and pedagogies we have devised an all-new training concept.

So far training and educational measures often fail to deliver their intended effects. Looking for possible causes for this failure, the focus has been on a measure's quality and objectives, i.e. contents, methodology, media, interaction between participants and trainers etc.

However, if quality is ensured in these areas, the problem obviously must lie elsewhere. Therefore, it is surprising that so far methodologies have only focused on evaluating the measure, whereas the learners' learning structures and learning processes have been widely ignored.

Recent findings suggest that individuals develop their structures of thought in learning processes over many years.
Individuals facilitate learning and knowledge organization by acquiring new contents and comparing these with their existing knowledge.
Understanding is the process of connecting new information and existing knowledge.
The organizational principle for connecting the two types of information is determined through learning processes that have been established over many years.
A piece of new information that is incompatible to established structures will remain unused.

Since an individual's learned concept of the world is responsible for forming and organizing learning structures, individuals can only use experiences and knowledge compatible with their concept of the world.
This world, however, has ceased to exist!!
Please, consider:
• latest developments in sciences and technical areas
• seemingly aimless and random social changes in all areas of life
• fundamental structural changes in world economies

Change in core areas of every-day life require an increased ability to innovate and think innovatively. However, individual experience management and innovative contents are often incompatible.
Thus, new information is incompatible to the old knowledge system and therefore remains unused.

empirikon's objectives are to:
open up individual systems of experience management, make pre-determined structures of thought transparent and enable connections
restructure competences, social experiences and understanding of hierarchies
adapt an individual's way of life or a corporate culture to the flexible and instable network of today's society and economic structures
• make education and training more effective

Our programs are directed at individuals as well as corporations.
The Competitive strength and business success of corporations are often closely tied to technological know-how, knowledge input and qualified employees in management and technical areas. The same goes for an individual's success in today's economy and society. Thus in the light of changes in economic structures personnel development and personal development have become vital for success.
